About Code 39
Code 39 is a widely used industrial barcode for manufacturing, assets and legacy systems. It supports uppercase letters, digits, spaces and a limited set of punctuation.
Code 39 is less dense than Code 128, so leave enough width for long values. Use uppercase data and the permitted character set only.
Practical implementation notes
Before production, scan a printed sample with the same hardware that will be used in the real workflow. Check the encoded value, quiet zones, contrast and physical size. A barcode that looks sharp on screen can still fail after low-resolution or reflective printing.
